By now it should be obvious, weddings are the brides ultimatum which can never be satisfied. The truth is you can never by your childhood imaginings back, but still the bridezilla is an all too common occurrence. Now something even worse; imagine a world full of bridezilla's and groomzilla's due to materialism. Your thoughts please.

On the contrary, weddings are evidence that materialism works. Grooms are selected on the basis of the money they have and how much the grooms can pay to their brother-in-law so that they can enjoy his sister.

What your wife will do for you will depend upon how much money you spend on her or her parents/brothers/sisters.

Your material bliss is dependent on it.. This answer is about Indian weddings.
