What is it like for families on a military base?
Question by Brooke:
What is it like for families on a military base?
I am writing a book and have searched through Google to try and find about what life is like on a Military Base. The book is base upon the Norfolk Naval base in Virginia. I want to know what military bases are like for families and in general facts. Google has not given me any success on my research and the past week has been irritating with no good results. Thanks!

Well I've never lived at Norfolk, but I live at Fort Leonard Wood and have lived near Hill AFB and Camp Pendleton...trying to get off base at the same time everyone is getting off work is HORRENDOUS traffic-wise.
That's all I can say without knowing the specifics of what you meant by "life on a military base"
It's really just like life in a small town except everyone wears camoflauge, there are troop lanes running parallel to the driving lanes for troops to walk, you have to slow down to 10 mph whenever you pass troops, and you need an id to buy anything.
