Where do I start with the batman comics?

Well I wanna read the very first batman comics and how he originated and everything where would I start?? And are the batman chronicles worth reading? And what books should I read to catch up with me to the now comics? Like from the golden age of comics to the modern age of comics? I wanna read all of them!
